such a time as this..

know why I keep tons of live performances vids? cos sometimes I get goosebumps just watching them..

when i hear the screaming and shredding of the electric guitar...

when i hear the distortion ringing between my ears....

when i hear rocking grooves of the bass line...

when i hear the clashing of cymbals bringing the song to live..

when i hear the thunderous sound of the snare...the bass almost creating a man made earthquake..

when i hear the voice of the singer bring his inner self and being to song...

something beneath me tingles...

a stirring occurs...

it's like electricity..

my heart beats faster...

i start to shiver in excitement and anticipation..

like a pulse..it passes through my entire body..

from the heart to the tips of my fingers..

the very nature of me awakens..

it's as though something...someone's calling me to where i belong..

I remember the times where I was holding my sticks waiting for my turn..

You could hear the chanting of the crowds in the background..

Butterflies in my stomache..

Anticipation..Adrenaline...

The struggle between inner peace and outer chaos..

And you walk up...and you see a sea of faces...

As wires are plugged into the guitars...

As mics are being tested..

As every part of the drum is being adjusted...

The one moment of pause just before you start..

You look to the heavens..and you say to yourself..

...' for such a time..as this..'

This week...

Apparently, he IS that big.

Humbled and honored to serve alongside big names. Learnt a lot. In technique, attitude and spirituality.
Feels weird to have a kuai lo giving you instructions. But you can sense the professionalism, the excellence, the experience just flowing out of this people.
Really glad and thankful to be given this opportunity.
Something's gonna be birth out of this.

I only face 2 problems.
1.) I'm tired like a dog when I reach there after a whole day's work.
2.) I should've done more homework. :P

someone next time please remind me, it doesn't matter who i'm playing for, I'm playing for God so I should always give my best.

and do my homework.

work

doesn't seem like work at all...heh...everyday is a new experience...I don't wake up dreading to go to work...it's more of a relax kinda feeling...so far I've..

visited huge boiler factories...
been to old klang road visit a water filtering company..
bak kut teh-ed wif my boss and one of our customers..
help carried heavy stock around in our storeroom..
got my hands oily pouring glycerine oil into the pressure gauges..
called some companies...talked to their female erm...receptionist...hehe...
realize you can talk to some people you'd never known before like some old friend..
had 'classes' wif my boss..
surf lots and lots of internet...
downloaded lots and lots of stuff...
ate a lot of goreng stuff they bring back from their outings for tea..

so far it's all that i guess..

it's gonna take some time before I establish myself here...
thing is I have a feeling I can do it...it's not something out of my reach..
confidence is built everyday..as I'm introduced to more and more people..

Oh ya. I've given myself one year to learn how to talk cantonese. Anyone who knows, please teach me. hehe. Kinda important to learn this language I guss.

Lotsa ppl do drop by this blog I found out. Thanks for coming by. Though I didn't know cos hardly anyone drops a comment. keke. But nvm. it's ok. I know by word of mouth. Bwahaha..

Ja.

1 week..

it's been a week since i started working...

every night i'm out since day one i came here. it' crazy. last week was filled with band practices. or church activities.

thing is...I like it. :)

quite the opposite during my penang working time when i come back from a miserable day from work hoping to find some activitiy, but only to see my housemates all having their eyes glued to their computer screen.

maybe i'll start to slow down a bit once my body can't take it....

the message preached in church last sunday is still stucked in my head. old wineskins vs new wineskins.new mentality vs old mentality. what a message which i needed at this moment of time.

to move on, the old thinking has to go..
old presumptions...
old habits...

new challenges have to come in..
new commitments...
new 'headaches'...heh..

I realise that you'll never ever learn anything unless you put foot in it...
You might not like it, but definitely you'll still learn something...

People who are afraid to commit and take up responsibility end up knowing little and caring less..

Yea, in some ways I resemble that..

that's the old me...at least I hope...

I wanna learn. I wanna grow..

Guess I should stop talking so much and start moving huh.

Another important lesson I learnt last week just by chatting with my pg leader. :)

Humility. and transparency.

Christians can be the biggest pretenders of righteousness and holiness.

We tend to put up a 'holy' front among our fellow christians.

Yup. I admit I'm guilty of that, too.

we sang 'All I need is You' in church 2 days ago.

God uses the meek to humble the proud.

yes, I was humbled. deeply humbled.

I still need to learn, Lord.

And you.

I don't ask for much.:) sometimes just a smile is just enough. which you give so generously.

Thank you. :)

me@work

i'm blogging at work!! hehehe.. ok for anyone who doesn' t know, I'm working in klang. and I'm staying in USJ 2. yeah, i'm a bit bored of answering the same questions again and again. travel time takes 30 mins max. no traffic jam. it's smooth sailing. i'mdoing sales engineering. selling what ? selling this.

how's work? ok, another question i'm bored of. so i'll post it here. make it simple and short.

i know it's not a fair competition, but since it's my last work experience, i'll just compared it to my time in penang during my industrial training. we'll refer to it as 'K' company.

K company
sitting in the bengkel. holding a spanar and searching for screws.

Here
nice big L table in a half cubicle. brand new pc. lcd screen.

K company
computer is a luxury. even if get to use, it'll be a lousy pentium 2 pc, which gives u an electric shock if u touch the monitor.

Here
freaking fast internet access. my own pc.

K company
staring at the wall whole day. 9 and half hours of mental torture.

Here
for the moment, waitin for training. starting next week, product training, intro to existing customers, meeting new people, visiting companies, bridging contacts, making business partners.

K company
jailed for everyday except for one day. all meals inside. no subsidary. canteen food. EVERYDAY.if u try to escape, they will shoot u. 'engineers' only eat among themselves. big shot people only mix with the big shot. other ppl are small fry. don't deserve to even kiss their feet.

Here
I've never paid for my lunches since coming here. Boss takes us out to eat together like a father brings his family for a meal. KFC, mamak. we talk, we laugh, we chat. coffee breaks and tea breaks with goreng pisang, lekor and other stuff. no more bells to indicate meal times. flexi hours. no more jails. no more guards. (sniff)

K company
complains, complains, and complains from her employees. curses. yes, they all come complaining to me. vulgar vandalism in the toilets condemning the engineers.

Here
nth but appreciation to the boss's kindness. praises and good reviews about the boss, coming from her employees i've chatted with.

and lots and lots.

K company
hell

Here
not to say it's heaven, but much much better than hell. hehe.

enuff said.
ja.
