Song of the Season
Everyone's got their song of the season, or band of the season..for some it's Hinder's Malaikat's Mulut. For some it's Kejar Kereta from Peronda Salji. (actually it's quite obvious why Snow Patrol always Chase Cars huh.)
hmm..next time if you're bored..can try translating band names to BM or hokkien and syok sendiri laugh to yourself la..maybe like Hari Hijau(greenday)..or..Saya Punya Kimia Romantik( My Chemical Romance)...Cerita Paling Best Tahun Ini ( Story of the year)...hahaha..
My song of the season...and band of the season has gotta be..yeah..Cerita paling Best.
Sidewalks
Story of the Year
The bridges are crumpled,
The water soaks into rocks,
That fell at the bottom of the road. (At the end the town)
The town that we lived in.
The memories shakin apart from the weeds that grow.
Over the sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Like the time we thought was made for you.
Or
Out on the front porch,
watching the cars as they go by,
Eighteen blue, twenty one grey,
Looking ahead for the first time that we could drive,
Out on our own,
To speed away
From the sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Like the time we thought was made for you.
Or
All of days that past us by,
All of the sun is gone...
Away
Sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Like the time we thought was made for you.

Apparently I guess they were singing about their hometowns. Makes me think about the good ol' days in the small lazy cowboy town of Alor Setar. Trees and suns..watching cars go by..yea..I did tat..We..did tat..my friends and I...runnin' around in the padi fields...yep...riding bikes avoiding kao dangs..falling into a drain...using sticks as 'swords' and do 'battle' on bikes..
And there were times when we just did nothing but sat under the porch...and stared into open space...
Good times..
Sidewalks, Running away from the streets we knew
Sis Annette once did a bible study and asked us, if God were to send us somewhere, where would be the last place you wanted to go..
I answered my hometown.
I love my kampung. But frankly speaking, sometimes the hardest people to minister to, are the people most familiar and closest to you.
These guys rock. Their drummer's called Josh as well. hehe. oh yea, the moment my girl housemate saw the bassist tat day on my pc, she squealed " WAH! LENG CAI! CUTIE BOY!"
