You and Me

"You And Me"

What day is it? And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive
I can't keep up and I can't back down
I've been losing so much time

Cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to lose
And it's you and me and all of the people
And I don't know why, I can't keep my eyes off of you

All of the things that I want to say just aren't coming out right
I'm tripping on words
You've got my head spinning
I don't know where to go from here

Cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to prove
And it's you and me and all of the people
And I don't know why, I can't keep my eyes off of you

There's something about you now
I can't quite figure out
Everything she does is beautiful
Everything she does is right

Cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to lose
And it's you and me and all of the people
And I don't know why, I can't keep my eyes off of you
and me and all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to prove
And it's you and me and all of the people
And I don't know why, I can't keep my eyes off of you

What day is it?
And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive

Panna / Street football

Hello ladies and gentleman, ok for this blog I guess it's mostly for guys...Alright, I'll be more specific, football crazee guys like me!! YEHAA!! Being in cyber with super fast connection, I was surfing delightfully when I stumbled upon this new thingie ( at least for me), called Panna/Streetfootball. Yes, I know that everyone's heard of it before. Don't close the window yet, cos I'll show you something here not many's heard before.

When people think of football (not soccer) they think of a field of green grass with white stripes. Or maybe a dusty pitch in the barrios of Brazil. But there is one kind of terrain that has always stayed in the shadows. The city squares. There, many great players started their career, from Johan Cruijff to Edgar Davids. The game they play there has now got an official name; Panna. Panna is slang for playing the ball through your opponents' legs.Image hosted by Photobucket.com This is the most humiliating way of passing your opponent. Panna is all about skills and tricks. Streetplayers traditionally have a very good technique. Because the ground is perfectly flat, you can have great control over the ball. In street football, there are no clubs. You play with whoever is there. This means it's about you and your reputation. And you get that reputation through showing off. The guy with the best tricks gets the most respect. And the really good ones develop their own tricks.

Panna Knockout was born in the streets of the Netherlands: Panna is the Surinam word for "humiliation", which is what you feel when you are "nutmegged" by a player - the ball is passed between your legs.

Nike Netherlands held their Panna Knockout championships as a celebration of street football. The event consists of a 1-on-1 Knockout tournament with matches played in small cages, with very small goalposts. The most goals after 3 minutes win, but a successful Panna automatically wins outright. The tournament started with qualifying rounds to select the best players from the 5 key cities in The Netherlands (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Eindhoven and Groningen). The final was played at Paradiso nightclub, Amsterdam, December 20, 2004.

Initially, the game was only held only in the Netherlands, but recently in went international. You could find players from south America, England, and so on coming together to compete to become Panna Champion. Check it out here.

How serious is the game? This is how it is. Because of the intensity of the game, losers actually suffer from PPT, Post Panna Trauma. Funny huh? Not really.
- PTT is a condition that develops after you've been involved with Panna;
- During the trauma you feel intense shame, humiliation or self-disgust;
- For some people PTT develops soon after the game. But, in some cases symptoms develop several months (or even years) afterwards.

But whatever it is, my interest and love for football magnified once I saw the videos of these guys juggling the ball and doing neat tricks which dazzled my eyes. Which also explains why, my personal favorite here, who rose from the ranks of streetfootball, Image hosted by Photobucket.com always kept the crowds on the edge of their seat everytime the ball touches his feet whenever he plays.

I wished that someone had introduced football to me earlier in my age. Sighz. HAha. wanna know more? check out here. Makan bola. Minum bola. Semua bola. HAha. Ciaoz.

IF Camp 2005

CCC Penang always had a place in my heart. It's almost like a benchmark for me. I first came to this campsite really young. Probably 5, 6 yrs old. Yup. It was the northen SU camp. My parents were camp officers, and they tagged me along as well. I remember during that time Uncle Michael Lee of SU would put me on his broad shoulders, and his thumbs up...and I had the liberty of 'controlling' my 'robot' around. Yup. I really enjoyed myself. I remember swimming in the same shores too...sleeping in the same dorms downstairs...yes folks...since the beginning of age, downstairs has been for males only. Please don't ask me why. I'm dazzled too.

Since then, I kept coming back to this campsite..for different camps too....I knew this camp was gonna be emotional for me. It was the first IF camp I attended. First time I met the graduated seniors too. And it was gonna be last time I see them too. At least some of them. First day, at the first meeting, I was standing at exactly the same spot I stood 3 years ago....where I met my first senior...Joseph Wong. I turned around, and there he was standing behind me that day too. Awesome isn't it, the way how things end the way they started.

Rest of the camp was predictable. I realized that I was really a seasoned camper. Not boasting, really. I attended camps since childhood. Everything was really predictable. Ah, unless if you wanna talk about the 'team building' game we enjoyed.

Honestly, it's really more fun being game masters of that game if you're playing. I won't talk about anything else except the ending. Boy, it was really an experience. If you knew me well, I love watching war movies. Especially the way the leader stirs his men before the battle begins, when they look at the enemy gathering their troops. Here was I, and a few other 'Nazghuls' , ready to be 'slaughtered'. Knowing that we will lose, we set out not to give mercy anymore. I remember as we stood there, in a single file horizontally, we saw the amount of 'enemy' campers marching down. As they got nearer, for some reason, I sense fear. I'm serious, man. Though it was just a game, I felt my knees grew a lil weaker and my heart pounding. Though we were 'posing' as really 'yeng' , inside me, I'm shaking, man.

The multitudes were scary. Slowly, they advanced to our line. 'Sauron' Ken was saying " Steady, steady, hold the line....." Our plan was wait till they come really close, then we charge. It was really a breathtaking scene. They advance in tight formation at first, meter by meter. Then as they getting really close, out of nowhere, from the crowd, the 'orcs' and 'elves' broke out from within the crowd. We couldn't see them at first. They charged. The Ken said" CHARGE!" That was all I needed to hear. We broke out down the wings of the field. Well. the rest was history. Really nice experience. You should try it one day. Haha.

MOB CAMP 2005

I didn't really learn much from the sessions from IF camp. No offence to anyone, some were things I already knew. I had many questions, and things which I needed to settle with God. Though I kinda regretted at first going to this camp, I knew, this was my last shot to find what I wanted. Even before attending the camp, while I was driving, I said " God, let me find you in this camp. " Well, to cut the long story short, I came back smiling. ;)

It was amazing how every session, was targeted at every issue in my life that either needed healing or answered questions...directly at me. Not only that, I believed God has put something in my heart which I thought I was already done with. Will elaborate on that another time. ;) But one thing which God restored in me, was the healing from being hurt by others. I thought at first that I've settled it in my heart, but actually, it wasn't completely healed. I had breakthrough there. I was set free. The other issue was faith. Somehow along the line last sem, it kinda slipped through my fingers. I felt that I couldn't see God. I started asking questions. Jesus healed that part in me too. Lazy to elaborate. Wanna find out more, come ask me lar. Happy to share with you personally. ;) 2 important words that came to me: Love and Passion.

I just wanna point out, that to grow, we need breakthroughs after breakthroughs in our lives. Actually it was Ps Phillip that pointed that out. And when it comes, and you know that it's your time of breakthrough, but somehow you pulled back, and wasted that chance, you'll just go back to where you were. You won't move. You won't grow. Sometimes pride can suffocate and choke growth. I still have many areas in my life I need to change, big time. And I know I need to discipline to do so.

To some people reading this, I have something for you. I don't really wanna think anymore about the existence of God or anything like that. I know just one thing. I believe in Jesus. I take step to BELIEVE in Him. We just need to believe, my friend. The our eyes will be opened to the realness of God. ;) O taste and see, that the Lord is good. He is good to me. Look up, and you will find that He is good to you too. :)

Some pics I took at the camp. It was taken on the last day, thus the same T shirts everywhere. haha.

Tunnel

It's getting cold. It's getting darker. He breathes harder. Every inhalation feels like eternity. I need to get out. As the walls grew closer, it became more difficult to move. His knees started to gave away. It's that a speck of light in front? I need to get there! As he drags his body, the pain and exhaustion started to take over. His head started to swirl with dizziness. Ju....st...a...a...little mo..o..re...... The walls suddenly started to close in. He could barely move. With every ounce of strength he had left, he pulled with all his might towards the speck of light in front. The rocks and stones on the surface were not very kind. Blood started to ooze out with every scratch. He started to wheeze and cough. The air was getting thinner. With every breath comes a desire to inhale another ten breathes. I....can do this.....I'm a fighter. C'mon. I can ma...ke ..it......Suddenly the wind grew stronger. The sound of howling started to haunt his soul. His vision started to get blurry. It's that the light anymore? Wait...it's getting smaller!!! HeYY!! NO!! DON't LEAVE ME!! NOO!! HEYYYYYYY!!!!!! NONONNONONO!!!!!..... I CANT SEE IT ANYMORE!!

DARKNESS.
