You know the scene in the movies? Where everywhere else fades and just a spot light shinning on it..and there's the sound of the angels singinging.." LAaaaaaa..."

Joy

JoY..

I've forgotten what that feels like..

Sure, there are jokes to laugh at sometimes..

But to experience Joy once again.

I have forgotten..

I've kept it all so much. I don't really know how to spill it out now.

Ja.

Oh Lord, why did you forsake me?
Oh Lord, don't be far away away
Storm clouds gathering beside me
Please Lord, don't look the other way

Crooked souls trying to stay up straight
Dry eyes in the pouring rain
The shadow proves the sunshine
The shadow proves the sunshine

-taken by Switchfoot-

I once told a person that we shouldn't expect anything for ourselves when we give,
but to expect that something good will happen for or to a person/cause that we're giving to.

I guess I kinda failed in my own 'teaching'.
I was
selfish in giving.
I'm sorry.

Nothing good has come for the past few weeks. Buthen again,I don't wanna make this another emo post.

Oh ya, there was one thing, this little joke managed to crack me up with my boss breathing down my neck

Little Old Lady Knows How to Gamble
spacer

A little old lady went into the Bank of Canada one day, carrying a bag of money. She insisted that she must speak with the president of the bank to open a savings account because, "It's a lot of money!" After much hemming and hawing, the bank staff finally ushered her into the president's office.

The bank president then asked her how much she would like to deposit. She replied, "$165,000!" and dumped the cash out of her bag onto his desk. The president was, of course, curious as to how she came by all this cash, so he asked her, "Ma'am, I'm surprised you're carrying so much cash around. Where did you get this money?" The old lady replied, "I make bets."

The president then asked, "Bets? What kind of bets?" The old woman said, "Well, for example, I'll bet you $25,000 that your balls are square." "Ha!" laughed the president, "That's a stupid bet. You can never win that kind of bet!" The old lady challenged, "So, would you like to take my bet?" "Sure," said the president, "I'll bet $25,000 that my balls are not square!" The little old lady then said, "Okay, but since there is a lot of money involved, may I bring my lawyer with me tomorrow at 10:00 am as a witness?" "Sure!" replied the confident president.

That night, the president got very nervous about the bet and spent a long time in front of a mirror checking his balls, turning from side to side, again and again. He thoroughly checked them out until he was sure that there was absolutely no way his balls were square and that he would win the bet.

The next morning, at precisely 10 am, the little old lady appeared with her lawyer at the president's office. She introduced the lawyer to the president and repeated the bet: "$25,000 says the president's balls are square!" The president agreed with the bet again and the old lady asked him to drop his pants so they could all see. The president complied. The little old lady peered closely at his balls and then asked if she could feel them. "Well, Okay," said the president,"$25,000 is a lot of money, so I guess you should be absolutely sure."

Just then, he noticed that the lawyer was quietly banging his head against the wall. The president asked the old lady, "What the hell's the matter with your lawyer?" She replied, "Nothing, except I bet him $50,000 that at 10 am today, I'd have the president of the Bank of Canada's balls in my hand.

Weekends -the price to pay

Remember the weekends? ..oh do you remember those weekends?..

Do you remember the tingling feeling of excitement when it's Friday? you know... when all you could think of is how late do you wanna sleep the next day..

..and who do you wanna meet up and just go to some place to chill...

..maybe a nice cosy coffee house...with orange lights, some lounge music playing at the background..and a nicely chilled mocca in your hands...

...maybe a nice dress down session at a shopping mall...where you could just take slowly enjoy strolling into each shop...admiring their stuff...

...maybe catch a movie you really wanted to watch...followed by a romantic candle light dinner...

..maybe catch a live band...not those rock bands...but good music by Phillipinos..

...or even staying at home...reading the newspaper or a book...sipping a steaming cuppa tea or coffee..

..all those done with no strings attached...no tight schedule to follow but just at your own leisurely pace..

and at the end of the weekend, you felt that you've had your rest. and you're ready to take on the world of working again.

I miss those times. A lot.

I've forgotten how it feels like.
Fridays don't feel the same anymore. Weekends have been taken up by you-know-what. Only time I have left, IF there aren't any special programmes coming up, are my sunday evenings 3pm onwards. By that time, you're pretty much exhausted and tired to go anywhere. And the thought of going to work the next day feels gloomy cos just as you felt that your "weekend" has only just begun, and "BAM!" ..you realised it's over already.

But I guess.. it's the price you pay..

When you said to Him " I'll follow you"..
When you sang songs which said " I love You"...
When you said it " Use me, Lord"..

And I think my 'weekend' is nothing compared to
.. seeing people coming to know Jesus..
..seeing people finding peace and joy in Him...
..seeing people overcoming breakthroughts and barriers in life through Him..

and that's the reason why I still do the things I do..

But once in a while, I really would lurve to do one of the things I mentioned above...

heh..

The Sea

I've always loved the sea. Of course, don't talk about the dirty slimy waters of the penang shores. If I remember correctly, the last time I was near the sea was at Redang Island two years ago.

I like walking on the sand, and to feel the softness of each step. I love the rhythmic sound of the waves. I enjoy gazing at the contrast between the deep blue sea and the pure white sand. And I enjoy inhaling the sea breeze and comes sweeping by your face. I love marine life. A lot.

Yesterday, because of my work, I had the opportunity to visit a boat/yacht maintenance boatyard in Port Dickson. Drove all the way there, and I gotta tell you, the moment I stepped out of my car, the smell of the sea was enough to flood my memories of the sea. Though I never really got near the to any beaches, I felt a tingling in my body as I walked by the boats and as I gazed into the open sea.

My potential customer happened to be a 'penang lang' who has worked on boats all his life. He used to work back in Penang, but got transfered here to mantain boats. Nobody actually bothers about their boats here, some of them have been left unattended by their owners for years. So, what he does he do then? Go fishing. :p

We spent around 2 hours just chatting like old friends in hokkien. Man, it's really a gem to find a 'penang lang' nows' aday. He even took me on a boat ride. hehe.

Check out this luxury boat. According to my client, it's own by our very own Prime Minister. He uses it when he goes 'visiting'. Visiting who? ahaa...I osos dunno. :p It looks really impressive. The captain himself gets paid RM 20k per month just to navigate this baby. Heck, I think even the indian sailor boys walking around there gets paid more than me. This baby costs a whopping RM 50 mil. 2nd hand value? RM 30 mil.

This is owned by our Tun Dr. Mahathir's son. Price= RM 10 mil. The heck with ferraries and porches. This cool looking piece of toy makes the luxury cars look like kancils and minis. *drools* Even if you're naturally not cool, you'll look like James Bond the moment you step on it.

Anyways,

Have you ever tried looking at yourself from another person's point of view? try listening to what you say. try observing your actions. try observing other people's reaction from your actions. It's really quite interesting. Cos you realize, that sometimes you say a lot of unecessary things. and you realize some of your actions where just plain stupidity.

I am getting tired. I really am. Exhausted.

Tired of putting in everything, and getting back nothing. Tired of sowing, and seeing little results. It's true, that we still have to be patient and diligent in the sowing. We should just look ahead one step at a time, instead of looking far far into the future, and clutching our heads in dismay. Sometimes we thought that we've put in enough, and when we stick our heads up, we find that we had only just begun. yea yea, I know the drill. Put your head back in. Put your hand back into the plough , bro.

But you know, sometimes, we just need a glimpse of the harvest to get us going...
To get us motivated..
To get us encouraged..
Not much I ask or require, just a glimpse, would be enough to put a smile back on my face..
And a little extra energy to continue..
